AHR-CYCLE OF REMAGEN / SINZIG TO SCHULD
Unfortunately, due to the flood disaster, the Ahr cycle path is only passable between Blankenheim to Ahrdorf and between Walporzheim to Sinzig. There are partial detours, which unfortunately are not always signposted.
Length: 46 km
Altitude: 263 m up, 64 meters down
Start: Remagen / Sinzig
Destination: Debt
Start in the Golden Mile
The starting point of the bike trail is the delta between Remagen-Kripp and Barbarossa city of Sinzig. By Sinzig continue past the small village Bad Bodendorf to Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler. The city is world famous for their sources, healing and joy. The restaurateurs and winemakers from the region around Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, are among the world elite, and prizes are as well known as the Health Center "Symphony of the Senses" and the casino.
With the historic district of Ahrweiler also opens the door to Germany's best red wine paradise. The following cycling-miles through the rugged Ahr valley with its steep slope vineyards convey a vivid impression of the laborious work of the winemakers in the vineyard. Pass the cozy places like Walporzheim, Rech, Dernau, Mayschoß way up to Altenahr. Again and again, cozy wine taverns invite you to linger.
Who wants ride to the source of the Ahr, sometimes rolling on the streets, some on an old railway line to Schuld. The last section to Blankenheim has not yet developed, so that cyclists need to take to the road.
The route in the large network of cycle routes:
The Ahrradweg is connected to further distance routes: between Remagen and Sinzig you come across the Rhine cycle path. In Dümpelfeld you can turn to the Ahr-bike trail and ride on the volcano-wheel route direction Eifel Eifel.
Character of the route:
It is a separate bike path on asphalt or paved paths and small roads, which partly runs slightly uphill, in parts on a former railway embankment. The route of the Ahr-bike trail runs up debt, then the gap is closing up Blankenkeim in work. Until then, here we need to use the road.
Back you can take the train from Ahrbrück to Remagen, or take the train from Remagen to Ahrtal us back on a bicycle.
